Inclusivity statement
Our goal is to be a fun, open and accepting space for everybody. It is our fundamental belief that all people belong and deserve fairness, justice, and inclusivity.
All necessary glass, tools, equipment, and safety gear is provided.
6 hours + ½ hr break.
We will also cover heat and stressc how to score and snap glass, kiln annealing, some science behind it and why all these factors matter. Many more hand skills will be covered as well as what you need to know about safely setting up a flameworking studio, what equipment you need, and how to use it.
All classes come with lifetime help and tech support. If you ever have any glassblowing questions feel free to give me a holler.
Clothing during class: Natural fibers only, no synthetic or blended clothing. Why? Plastic will melt when exposed to heat such as hot glass and torches causing severe burns, where there is a lower chance of injury with cotton clothing because the fabric will just singe.
No open-toe shoes.
Long pants are recommend.
Tie up long hair.
No loose jewelry.
You will need to wear the provided safety glasses, there are fit over frames available if you already wear prescription glasses.
Dress for the weather. Due to hot kilns, burning torches and the need for good ventilation, climate control in a glass studio is difficult. When it is hot outside it is hot in the studio, and when it's cold it's cold.
Kids: Children 12 years and older are welcome to work on the torch with adult supervision unless otherwise noted.
Pets: Sorry but pets are not allowed.
Do bring lunch, snacks, and a drink/ waterbottle
